marcoujor: About Andy

Have you ever looked into someone’s eyes and known, without a shadow of a doubt, that things would get better…?

The last couple weeks have been emptier on the homefront after the expected loss of our beloved Zoey.

I’m sure Andy didn’t understand the details of why his sister got so sick, went for a ride and never came home … it was difficult enough for my husband and me to grasp.

What our three year old boy lacked in knowledge, he has more than made up for in compassionate intuition.

For the last couple weeks, Andy has given both of his parents equal time in the cuddles and play departments - all the while becoming a ‘little man’ overnight.
”And maybe that was how it was supposed to be...Joy and sadness were part of the package; the trick, perhaps, was to let yourself feel all of it, but to hold on to the joy just a little more tightly.”  Kristin Hannah

I got this email from a dear friend…
Dear Maria,

Please thank Andy for taking such good care of his beautiful Mom. I’m so glad that Andy is in your and Geoff’s life, especially now at this sad time. I’m sure he’s trying his doggone best to be goofy and silly  just to give his Mom and Dad a reason to smile.

Take care now, dear friend and have yourself a safe and lovely day.

Love and hugs,

Sannel and Freddie
So, THANK YOU, Andy…
…for helping your Mommy and Dad hang on to the joy you so freely share, and yes, of course, we can listen to some of our happy music.

Andy is such a handsome boy and his sister was beautiful. They seem to know just how to comfort and soothe us, even in spite of their own losses. My heart goes out to you and your lovely family at this difficult time. Love you.

Oh, Maria...It doesn't get more touching than this. Of course Andy feels every vibe of the emotions running rampant within you and Geoff. And even though Andy feels sad & confused by the sudden loss of his sister, he's determined to bring some joy into your home, because he needs to see you smile, most of all.
There's so much to be noted & appreciated in the immense love & loyalty given by our fur babies, it's hard to describe. For now, I can think of one word.....AMAZING. Love, Paula

Auw, Maria, getting used to the permanent absence of a beloved is surely one of the most difficult challenges to meet in this life. Music is a perfect comforter. Beautiful videos in here!

Sannel's message is heartwarming!

Please give Andy a hug on my behalf ♥

Hugs,

Life is filled with new beginnings. Recognizing them when they occur can be one of our greatest joys. That's why we have to go through life with our eyes open. Too often, people close them and concentrate only on the visions in their mind. They live in a past life, constantly focusing only on the sadness they experienced. Perhaps, if they'd open their eyes and see the beauty of what surrounded them, we'd find an end to the depression epidemic the world over. As cliche as it may sound, one has to have the bad to appreciate the good. The depths we sink to when we've lost a loved member of the family are lower than the deepest oceans. Yet, the highs we experience when we find new happiness in love are higher than the highest cloud. So, life is an emotional roller coaster. All we can do is hang on to our seats and enjoy the ride. But, you know all this already. Enjoy what Andy brings to you and relish in his love. He needs you as much as you need him. Oh, and don't forget "Love Can Make You Happy" by Mercy, "If You Want To Be Happy" by Jimmy Soul, and "Shiny Happy People" by R.E.M. Enjoy, Sis!

Hi Mar and Geoff...
I know the pain of your recent loss, we pet owners are faced with some hard decisions at times.
I am so glad that you have Andy there to comfort you and he is looking after Mom and Dad. Pets are so intuitive are they not I am certain Andy misses his sister as well.
I had Quigley cremated and her remains have an honoured place on the mantle above the fireplace. Now Angel has taken the empty spot and she is like a magnet and always near by. Always there to greet me with a silly looking kitty toy I bought.

Hugs as always from the deepfreeze

Dear Rolly,

Your remarks are so kind and understanding - thank you.

I'm so happy you have dear Angel, who has taken over your world.

I'm sure Quigley has made the best of friends with Zoey, Aunt Baby and Alvin.

Stay warm and sending lots of hugs your way, Maria

I'm listening to "Happy" as I type this...actually I listened to all the videos you put here and love every one of those songs. Great taste in music.
As for Andy, you know, I've always thought that animals have this "otherworldly" sense of things. Andy's connected to you all and it's like he knew it was time to step up and occupy a "bigger space" to help your adjustment with Zoey. Though I'm sure he feels his own sadness at her absence.
I'm thinking of you both. Sending you wishes of light and love and the knowledge that your Zoey will always be with you: she's left an imprint on your heart. 💝

I totally agree with your take on our animals - and am 'happy' that you enjoyed my songs this week.

This was beautiful and really touched my heart. So sad that you and Geoff lost sweet Zoey, but glad that you still have Andy to brighten up your days, and also bring some much needed moments of comfort.

Prof. Mahreer,

I'm glad Andy's doing a wonderful job at space-filling. I imagine it's as much comfort for him to help with his grieving as it is for you and Chef Geoff. 💗

Dear Mareer,

Dogs are so sensitive to the needs of humans, and no doubt rascal Andy knows just how you and Geoff should "feel", vibes-wise, so he's taken on the task of restoring both of you until you all feel right again. Love that impish dawg of yours, and his sister was such a beautiful sweetheart.
Your videos are lovely. This is a process, and I know you'll come though it when it feels right.
Love and hugs,
Vickster
