marcoujor: All In The Game

Scrabble is a longtime tradition in my family. Mom bought me a Junior Scrabble game when I was in second grade.

I became impatient with this version, as it didn’t allow for the creativity of actually forming words.

Scrabble, the adult version, can be humbling, very much mirroring life to me.

Sometimes, no matter how knowledgeable the player, the chosen Scrabble tiles can sway the results unfavorably.

In life, those “Q” and “Z” tiles pop up when we least expect it in the form of serious illness, trauma, death, etc.

For me, time spent with family and friends is even more important than the results of the game. In fact, a wise person ignores many issues where the rules of Scrabble are concerned. 🙂

I’ve been reminded recently on several occasions that tomorrow is not promised.

For as long as we are in this game of life together, let’s continue to share time, our views and, of course, music with each other.

Well, that was Zanny. Z,A,N,N,Y, 10,1,1,1,4 = 17 oops, double for the Y, =21

Yes, the tiles can certainly fall the wrong way.

Looks like Scrabble is your cup of tea, Mike - not surprising from a wordsmith such as yourself ... ;)

Now pass the tea... Hugs, mar

Life is like a box of Scrabble. You never know what you're going to get. Zs, Qs, Xs, 5 Rs - Vanna, can I buy a vowel? I love Scrabble. The little wooden tiles, so perfect and polished. The trays to store them. What a great game.
We definitely need to cherish our tiles and make the most of them. Zorro, Zed, Zap, Zippy.

How did you know I was thinking of putting a Forrest Gump reference in this post, clever girl!

Just wanted you to know I love ya before heading off to get some zzzzzzz's...!!! No doubt I'll be dreaming of chocolate :)

Dear Maria,

Just like Scrabble the chosen life can sway the results unfavorably, so we need to cherish life one tile at the time.

Thanks to this post I had to look up who was the brain behind this hugely popular game and I learned something I didn't know before. :)

Thank you for a great read and a wonderful repertoire of music, my beautiful friend.

Love and hugs,

Sannel

Scrabble - what a perfect metaphor for life - those missing 'letters' that prevent you from achieving the success you wish to achieve!

I love this thought-provoking post, and, of course, the music. I can never get enough of ABBA's 'The Winner Takes it All'.

Take care, dear Maria!

I always love your posts. The great videos and music and the uplifting messages I find. They're like little gems that I can carry with me and leave me with a sense of security and happiness.
Scrabble can really teach us a lot about life. And time is so precious: none of us knows when it will be our time. The trick is to find balance and humility in this life while we're alive so we can live it to the fullest. Sending you hugs and wishes for a wonderful week! xoxo

Dear Mareer,

Scrabble is indeed similar to the game of life. We have to learn pretty quickly that not all things have equal value. The difference is, we get to choose our own value system, instead of having to live only with values imposed by others.
I love scrabble.

hugs and special love this morning,
Z is a beautiful letter.
