marcoujor: Anecdotes by Andy

This week I'm proud to share a guest post written by Andy, my sweet Black Labrador son, soon to be three years old.

PictureAndy Jordan
I have a crush on Mommy!

I love to look deep into her eyes.

Pop even calls me a 'Momma's boy', whatever the heck that means.

When Mommy and Pop rescued me as a pup, I was so scared. Mommy held me in her arms during the long ride from Johnstown. I fell in love with her when we stopped for lunch. I got to eat my first hamburger ever. Yummy!

Now I'm brave, even silly about most stuff. My main job is to help Mommy relax and get out of her head, especially when she gets in from work.

The minute the garage door opens, I feel a smile coming on! I even taught my sister, Zoey, to wait for our parents (and anyone else who happens to be walking or driving down the street) by hanging out in the bay window of our living room.

It's not feeling as weird to share Mommy and Pop with Zoey. Three months have passed. I'm pretty sure my sister is here to stay.

My parents rescued her too. Mommy told me we are both very special and that she has enough love in her heart for both of us.

Zoey is always up for an adventure, unless she's hungry. My sister loves a good meal, hers and mine, unless Mommy is watching over us.

Squirrels and birds are not too keen on hanging out with us, but they sure are fun to chase around in our back yard. I love all kind of weather, from snow storms to sunshine.

Just look at me!

Aren't I adoggable?

I wanted to share my life's motto with you...

"This is gonna be the best day ever!"

I also want to dedicate "I'll Always Love my Mama" by The Intruders to my favorite girl!

Thank you, sweet Andy.

Like your sister, you are quite the scribe. 😎

Andy.....Hey there young man, you sure are handsome. I'd love to meet you in person over tea & biscuits so we could exchange ideas on how to be happy & carefree & loyal. Your Mom tells us that you're an expert on that outlook on life. My guess is that these virtues are simply instinctive for you & your sweet sister, Zoey. I like to learn from the experts, Andy.
I understand your love for your Momma. Moms are the best, aren't they? There's no one better to make us feel safe & loved.
Thanks for stopping by to chat a while. A friendly one on one always makes my day. You're really doggone special, Andy! I'm sending hugs to you & Zoey and your Mom & Dad! Love ya, Aunt Paula.....:)

Dear Andy,
I remember those first scary days when your parents took you to your new home. And then she wouldn't let anyone visit until you were sure you were going to be okay with her. That's what very special moms do. No wonder you're "her" boy! And of course it was scary again when your sweet parents brought Zoey in, but now you know there's always plenty of love for both of you.

You get those moments when Zoey's actually quite useful, as she makes a great distraction when you want to practice a bit of destruction. After all, every doggie has to have his day, not so?

I know it's a hard life, looking after those two gorgeous parents of yours, but someone has to do it, and now you've got a sister to share the load.

In your home, "dog days" don't only happen in summer. They're every day! That's cool, 'specially in the snow.

Oh, by the way, love that vid, and thank your mom for typing out your story. Gotta remember to do that, Andy otherwise the treats might run out!

Love you four,
Vickster.

Great idea, Aunt Vickster... Mommy is good to me and I sure don't want those treats stopping anytime soon.

I still love the Frisbee you sent me. Yes, I even share my toys with Zoey...like I have a choice - hee hee!

We love you too, Andy

It is truly sweet they way they teach each other important things. Andy seems to have accepted his new sister. It took a while for my Indy to realize that food was an ongoing thing. Now he eats slowly, chews every kibble and even licks Tony's bowl when he's done. In fact, right now they're playing at my feet, bouncing into my keyboard tray. They send woofs and howls.
Your pups are terrific; smart and loyal. They really are adoggable.

Oh I am praying dear Zoey will learn to slow down and enjoy her vittles... in the meanwhile, I juggle eating times and enhance my supervision.

The way Tony and Indy bonded made me confident Andy and Zoey would do the same.

Thanks for your sweet remarks. Love you, Maria

Dearest Andy,

Haha, you are so darn cute! And just like your sister you have wonderful writing-skills. What a sweet thing it must be to see you and your sister hanging out in the bay window. It has to be the cutest window decoration in the whole neighborhood. Heck, in the whole country!
Your Mommy sure loves you and yes you definitely are her 'Momma's boy.' Please continue your swell job of taking care of her in your loving and relaxing way.
Wishing you and your family a delightful weekend!

Belly rubs from Auntie Sannel and sloppy kisses from your cousin and auntie Sannel's 'Momma's boy,' Freddie. :)

Sooo beautiful and adorable. I loved this perspective, written from the heart, and you just know that's probably what he's thinking. There's a little person inside Andy somewhere. And I loved the "adoggable." Thank you for sharing this, Maria.

Hugs.

One of my fav series for young readers is written by a lab named Howard. His stories are uber-cool and allllll these years later, I STILL love to re-read them.

I can picture a K9 version of Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys mysteries looming on the horizon.

Also, a whole lots of "kinds" out there who are thinking of adoption. Andy and Zoey have great insight regarding adoption, for both K9-kind, kitty-kind,, horsey-kind and human-kind.

Ohhhh the possibilities! 🐶

I'll have tocheck out Howard's work as well... :) Love ya, mar

Ah, how sweet of you Andy, to use your mom's blog to shout out your love for her! I'm sure you melted her heart when she read these words.

Glad to hear you and Zoey are getting along. It's always nice to have a little sister around while Mom and Dad are at work. I'm sure you're a great role model.

Hey, Andy... want to be the first fur child to do what every parent wishes? Clean house for Mom while she's at work. Sweep up your stray hairs, wipe up any spilled water, lap up any errant crumbs... you get the idea. You'll set a trend and Mom and Dad will appreciate it more than you can imagine!

Dear Sha,

I read your comment to Andy and Zoey...they finally stopped laughing and rolling on the floor!

The 'errant crumbs' don't stand a chance with these big babies.

Other than that, HELLO to the Swiffer and this Momma wouldn't have it any other way.

Happy, peaceful Sunday. Love you lots, mar
