marcoujor: Come On Spring

Okay, I’ll admit it…! Winter, especially the winter of 2018, is not my cup of tea.

As I write, the winds are howling at 40-miles an hour and temperatures loom in the single digits. Our older trees and electrical wires frenetically dance to the arctic breezes.

Having a warm roof over my head is a blessing I don’t take lightly. Andy and Zoey agree, as they make short work of their outdoor bizness.

March 20, 2018. Spring will be on our doorstep - less than 70 days from now. Not such a long time, eh?  Seems like a bit of mind over matter …
My cyber - bestie, Martie Coetser - Pozyn, recently sent me this picture... on holiday break in South Africa with her lovely granddaughter. Feel free to channel sunshine and warmer weather with me… 😊

Zoey is also getting into the ‘sunshine act’.

Here is shot of my beautiful girl - taken on January 1st - her 9th birthday.

Thanks to her Auntie SCA for the bone - her favorite.

Feeling warmer yet?  It might be time for some tunes to bring on the sun rays… I stopped myself at six sunny selections so y’all don’t sweat too severely. Join me for some iced tea while you listen:
I feel better - hoping you do too!

Love this glimpse into warmer weather and counting the days with you until spring. What a great photo of Martie and her granddaughter. Makes me long for summer days.
Our dogs are making quick bizness trips, too! They are so pampered and rightly so.
P.S. The videos seem to be working. I love your music choices.
Love you.

Thanks, dear Peg - the videos were down from my end - fixed now (a dreaded cookies in the browser issue, who knew?)

I know you and your fur kids can relate to the 'Think Spring' campaign.

Love you and hugs, Maria

Hey, Sis! Have to say, this is the one area you and I differ. I'm a cold weather person. After years of living along the Gulf Coast, I couldn't wait to get back to the land of four seasons. I really missed the cold temperatures and snow. No, not four feet deep snow, but a foot or so is no big deal to me. So, while you're shivering, I'm enjoying. And, when you're enjoying the summer heat, I'm roasting like a turkey in an oven. (w/o the stuffing, I might add, lol) By the way, here's a few more songs to help your summer daydream: 1) Sly & The Family Stone - "Hot Fun In The Summertime", 2) War - "Summer", and 3) Percy Faith - "Theme From A Summer Place". While you're enjoying those, I'm thinking of the baking sun, sun burnt skin, and smelling hot and sweaty people in shopping lines with Blue Cheer - "Summertime Blues". Enjoy and as always, luv ya! Bro

Oh my funny, chilly-loving and adorable (even without the stuffing) Bro... thank you for adding huge doses of giggles to my post and I do love all of your song suggestions!

Love you lots, Sis

I guess I should take the blanket off from around my shoulders. After all, our temperatures have two digits. So, you keep thinking of Spring and spreading the sunshine. burr, now, you remind me to walk the dogs.

Everything is relative, especially with weather, dear Mike.

I feel like I'm whining when I think of Rolly and other pals, where it's way colder than PA.

In the meantime I'll keep spreading the... sunshine, what did you think I was going to say?!

Shame, Mar, I really feel sorry for you guys up there. Not even our worse winters are as cold as yours. It's terribly hot and dry down year.

Now let me go and take another dive into the pool...

Best wishes for the next 70 days!

Hugs,

Martie

Dear Maria,

I'm not envious of the harsh and bitter cold that you're having, but I'm envious of Martie and her granddaughter in the pool. How wonderful it looks! :)
So far we're experiencing a mild winter, so I'm not the one to complain. However, that can change overnight. Spring may not just yet be at our doorstep, but it's definitely around the corner, waiting for its appearance. Yes, it is there. . . You just need to use your binoculars if you want to see a glimpse of it right now. ;)

Thank you for your sunny selections making my dreams of warmer temperatures swimming in a pool more realistic.

BTW, love the picture of Zoey and her birthday bone. :)

Stay warm, my friend!
Love and hugs,
Sannel

Pass me those binoculars, dear Sannel - yes, yes, I can almost see Spring's beautiful face ... :)

I love this picture of sweet Zoey as well - she is indeed a ray of sunshine in our home.

You stay warm too and hugs to you and Freddie,
Maria

Sweet Maria! Haha...I was up there looking at Rich's comment. I've seen him "resist the heat" before...he enjoys this cold and...I'll never understand. Unless I'm skiing. Then I can enjoy it, but just sitting there freezing? Oh man...I'm not a fan. Haha. But then again, that's probably not surprising considering that I'm always cold and in the winter months, I don't leave the house without long johns on, knee length socks, a couple layers of shirts...and this is what I wear under a jacket or sweater all day. lol. Even if it's in the 40s, I just know I'm not one for the cold. Though I love the four seasons. Hehe. Yup, it's true: I put up with winter so I can enjoy the other seasons. I love your song selections here - especially Willie and the Beatles. I hope you've had a fantastic Wednesday! Sending you big hugs, wishes for an awesome week and so enjoyed your awesome post! More hugs for you!

I can totally relate to your comment with the exception of skiing, dear Cynthia. Coordination and I are mortal enemies... LOL.

Glad you appreciate our Bro's humor as much as I do.

You have an awesome week as well and thanks for your visit.

Love and hugs, Maria

I have a genuine South African BRAAI ready, and champagne for the winner...

(You may think our braai's and your barbecues are the same, but there is a difference :) ♥
