I thought I'd start out this week's post with the answers I received to this question - from a survey I sent out to a group of family, friends and colleagues in the Spring.

  • Life with health and wellness
  • Being loved and cared about by so many dear ones
  • My brains (thanks to my mom)
  • That I'm still alive and fairly healthy; that family is healthy; God
  • My family and life
  • Faith, family, health
  • Everything
  • For being alive and part of this awesome universe
  • Jesus Christ and redemption
  • My home family and friends
  • Love; to love and be loved
  • For every single moment of my life, Those I adore, experiences that taught me valuable life lessons, another day and the love of those precious to me.
In answering this question for myself, I have a head start as these twelve answers each ring true for me.  On any given day, I could have a similar response to any of these reflections.

Lately, I am struck by the realization of what I have the power to do today.  And for this, I am ever grateful.

Today, I can make someone who doesn't feel their best smile or feel comfort, by any number of simple acts of kindness.

Today, as hot as it is, I remind myself of a happy little guy like Andy, who plays whether it is winter or summer or any time in between.

Today, if I feel sad at those who have gone before me, I can look out my windows and see nature's reminder of their eternal presence.

Today, I am reminded that there is gift after gift waiting to be discovered, in the beauty and simple majesty of Mother Nature.

Today I am reminded that I am only part of the Master scheme. Any chance to do 'my part' is a reason to be grateful.

Yes, I am ever grateful for today. And thank you for spending time here with me today.

This is a newly released, sentimental number by the ever-lovely, Norah Jones, Carry On. The video reminds me to be grateful for the simplest things in life, including unconditional love.

Until next week, I'm grateful for each of you who have taken the time to read this...

I'd love your thoughts on gratitude, if you haven't already shared with me, in the comment section (yes, a private email is fine as well).

Hugs,

Gratitude. It is the answer to so many things that trouble us. I love the Norah Jones video which demonstrates the gratitude she clearly feels for having a loving home and parents who love one another. What a great accompaniment to this reminder of the things and people we are thankful for having in our lives.

Hello Maria - This is a very serene piece of writing. The pictures of Andy, who has appointed himself king of the homestead are just great. We are going to add photographer to your resume.

Dear Maria,
At the moment I'm grateful to know what good health feels like so I can work back towards it. I'm grateful for the sunny warm days too, but I wish they would just be a bit lower in intensity! I'm very grateful I can see. And with all my heart I'm grateful to live where I do. I'm grateful to know you and your fine Andy sweetheart . Gosh, my list of gratitude just keeps going on...I'm grateful you reminded us to remind ourselves!
Love and hugs

Dear Maria,

Thank you for an inspirational post, a beautiful reminder how grateful I am to my darling parents who brought me into this world, and that I'm still around to enjoy the small everyday moments that cross our path. I'm grateful to our beautiful nature and to all the animals that bring me the utmost peace and happiness. I'm grateful having such caring and loving friends and family around me, and I'm grateful. . . Oh, this can go on and on, haha, so I better stop. :)
Loved listening to the beautiful lyrics of Norah Jones.
Thank you, Maria for being in my life. . .
Take good care!
Love and hugs,
Sannel

    Welcome to my desk...

I am a work in progress, so a rule of thumb is to expect the unexpected every week!

Pull up a comfy chair and make yourself at home.

    Thank you,
