![]() "Hope is a quality that will always remain with us. With hope we always look forward to tomorrow. With advancing age, you see more easily what is important in life--your family, friends, faith and beliefs. "Yesteryear's desires and wishes have fallen by the wayside. It's no longer important that we never reached the top of the mountain or amassed that fortune. We found peace and contentment along the way." Mom (Miss Sammie) Peace and contentment grow more important to me by the day. I picked up my virtual pen after Mom’s death in May, 2010. The wisdom, captured in her journals, continues to guide me, both in word and the practice of life. In the Fall of 2012, I dedicated Kylie’s Blossoms to my great-niece, Kylie Samantha, in memory of her great-grandmother, Miss Sammie. ![]() In case you’re not familiar with the story, here is a snippet from the Introduction: Kylie learned to love nature by taking walks with her parents. They taught her how to be safe in the forest nearby her home. Now Kylie is old enough to explore on her own. She will take Teddy as her companion. Momma is so wise. She taught Kylie that you can learn a life lesson from every new friend you meet. In the Spring of 2016, two more versions of Kylie’s Blossoms were published: Flores de Kylie (translated in Spanish) and Kylie se Blomme (translated in Afrikaans). In my notes on the back covers, written both in English and Spanish (thanks to Paula Jamison-Michalek) and Afrikaans (thanks to Martie Coetser Pozyn), I encourage readers of all ages to… Keep reading your whole life through! It will take your mind to places you’ve never dreamed about. I’m grateful to my author, illustrator and friend, Sannel Larson, for many reasons. Here are two that immediately come to mind.
ShoutOutsUntil next week, be peaceful and content, taking good care of yourself,

Hello mar - Congratulations. Kylie certainly has become part of the literary landscape. She is about ready for the prom now, isn't she?

The pleasure is all mine. Even though I sometimes pull my hair out (metaphorically) trying to figure out how to accomplish the task.
