![]() "Dear Music, Thank you for always clearing my head, healing my heart and lifting my spirits." -- Lori Deschene Indeed, music does this and so much more ... I have enjoyed the range that this musical intermission has given me in selecting songs that can make us smile, cry, dance / move, laugh, relax - even songs that can bring necessary anger to the surface. Next Wednesday I'll be coming full circle as I finish up this Musical Intermission series from A to Z. And after that, it'll be anyone's guess as to what the theme will be ...The only sure bet is that the music is always ON at mar's desk. Y wait to check out the "Y"-songs...?! Something Old In addition to You Can't Hurry Love, Momma also said: "Turn down that music, mareer"... :) Hoping you enjoy this YouTube version with subtle differences in this 'first take' whether your volume is up or down! Something New I've previously shared other songs by First Aid Kit - a Swedish folk duo, sisters Klara and Johanna Söderberg. I am drawn to their harmonious melodies and the messages in their lyrics. The song I am sharing, You Are The Problem Here, obviously fits the theme of "Y"-songs. For me, this song goes way beyond that. That being said, please do not listen to this song if you are offended by profanity. I make no apologies for sharing, as the core message of this song is sadly all too relevant across this world. Something Borrowed Sharon Jones, the lead singer with the band Dap-Kings, died way too soon at the age of 60 after a battle with cancer in November, 2016. I could listen to her sultry and sassy sounds all day. Take a listen for yourself! Something Blue How cool to find the theme of my Musical Intermission on the cover of this "Y" Blues song - You've Got Me Runnin'. ShoutOutsUntil next week, wishing you peace and a song in your heart, mar

Hello mar - It is so nice to know that you can immerse yourself in music and escape the madness that passes for our culture. Listening to the Supremes and can't wait to be offended by the profanity in You are the Problem Here. Happy Wednesday.

Good Morning Maria, Music is always a delight. I liked words and the Supremes have been a favorite since high school. 'Put on Your Red Shoes' had a great rhythm.

Listening to the Supremes brings back such good memories of high school and AM radio blasting in my 10 year old whale of a car. I'll be listening to the other choices, too. Offended by profanity? Hah. I was an adult in the seventies. It was the language spoken. Love you.

I must admit that I never listened to Sharon Jones, but I'm tapping my toes as I listen to her. I always thought The Supremes were the best. It is nice on a Wednesday evening to listen to your music. Please know that you are appreciated. Love and hugs.

Your selections are spot-on. Once again. :) I have discovered new artists and seen my favorites emerge through this wonderful series. I look forward to "Z" but it's bittersweet getting to the end of the alphabet. But where there's one ending, there's a new beginning, and I look forward to all the fun things you'll do. Sending you big hugs and wishes for a wonderful rest-of-your week. (HUGS)
