![]() Christmas has been bittersweet for me since Mom died in 2010. Last year was especially difficult as my husband's beautiful sister died from cancer. This year we said goodbye to our sweet yellow Labrador, Aunt Baby ... Today is the 20th anniversary of my Dad's death...1994, on New Year's Eve, hard to believe that many years have passed. In October, 1995, we bid a sad farewell to my dear mother-in-law. Yet our family grows as nieces and nephews have their own children. We take in new family as our youngest nephew announces wedding plans for 2016. And we adopted a loving black Labrador, 'Andy Jordan', who has turned a sad home into giggles, antics and in general, utter mayhem. Every since I was a little girl, I have spoken for my pets. Looking back, so did my sweet Momma and my family never really looked at me twice when I did my Peppi - speak. Peppi was our beloved family kitty cat who lived to be twenty years of age, so I had quite a long time to speak Peppi, so to speak....! I'll admit my husband was shocked when our cats, Katie, Jake, Ninny and Scottie developed their unique voices. By the time, our Labradors entered the scene, Geoff simply asked that their voices not be so squeaky and if they might mature in sound over time ... Whatever the heck that means, you can be sure that Andy Jordan has a voice, and a mind, of his own ... and it seems he has developed a pet motto that gets him out of quite a bit of trouble...! It goes a little something like this: "This is gonna be the best day ever..." And trust me, Andy milks this expression for all he is worth...through the nice times and the naughty... I figured out of the mouths of babes (puppies)... and have adopted it as my own mantra, sharing this card of our beautiful boy whenever I can, thanks to the talents of my friend, Sannel Larson. It thrills me that Andy has the ability to spread joy and cheer just as his sister Aunt Baby did before him. I received this validating e-mail from a dear friend: "Thank you so much for the beautiful Christmas card. It arrived yesterday, and I was glad because I sometimes feel a bit down the day after Christmas when the weather is dreary, and it has been. "Andy's card made for a perfect spirit-lifter." Wishing you peace and a happy New Year, mar

What an adorable boy, looking at you with so much love, and actually begging you to never-ever send him out of your life. Oh, Maria, I do believe pets, and especially dogs, are angels feeding us with love and positive energy. Our four were quite upset with all the fireworks last night, though calm in our presence.

Happy New Year, Maria, Geoff and gorgeous Andy boy! Yes, it is the best day ever and going to be the best year ever. I can just feel it I just love that card with such a handsome and adorable face on it. All my pets had their special voices too : ) ... I wanted to try to at least make it to the New York New Year's as they are an hour ahead of us but ...What the Faith ...I am pitiful. Thank you for being a blessing in my life. Love you, Theresa

What the faith, Faith? As if the Jordans made it to midnight either (LOL)?

It's wonderful to read about the joy and laughter that Andy has brought into your home. How deeply I understand this having dearly loved our five fur puppies that have crossed over in times past, one on the day after Christmas. Bittersweet memories plague the holidays as I remember Buddy's antics and the joy he once brought to us in his twelve years. Fortunately, Tony came along shortly afterward to help Cookie overcome her loss and as a salve to our pain as well.
