marusic: Lovable Dawgs

The seasons are changing and time has flown.

There is no lack of communication, love or interaction in our perfectly blended family. The human-kind speaks a different language than the K9-kind, yet usually, we easily understand each other, with little-to-no trouble.

I hope you'll join me in this little update on our beautiful girl and boy.
Andy Jordan came to us in August of 2014.  He was scrawny and scrappy, taking to his new home like a stamp to a letter.

At home, our boy is seemingly fearless. In fact, he serves as a singular ‘Neighborhood Watch’,  alerting us to every two and four-legged passersby every time!

Two of the neighboring lady dawgs have taken quite a shine to Andy. Who will win his heart, Jasmine or Macy?

As I read these gorgeous eyes, I’m thinking he will always be a Momma’s boy and I admit to loving that. 🌝

Andy and his sister, Zoey, recently had their yearly wellness check and some immunizations. These days make me miss our friend and former Vet, Doc. We were spoiled with individual service in a small home-like setting for his office.

Andy
We love our new Vet, don’t get me wrong. This clinic has a staff of warm receptionists, compassionate technicians/groomers and several Veterinarians. Dr. Allison has a safe, nurturing and competent approach. Both Andy and Zoey are very comfortable around her.

I was reminded that my son is not good at masking his fear when in a new environment, like the doctor’s office. Focusing on giving a doggie back rub, I found myself quietly singing these songs into Andy’s ears...

Zoey
Now, Zoey is completely different in personality from Mr. Andy.

While this self-assured young lady has only lived with us for a year, as of October 26th, it feels as though she has always been a part of the family.

Zoey sauntered into the Vet’s office with her Dad like she was entering a fine dining establishment.

As Andy and I waited for their return, yes, individual appointments, it seemed to be taking a bit longer than expected. Turns out we had to wait even longer as Zoey decided it’d be fun to eat the tip of a tongue depressor, along with a peanut butter snack!

All is well, not to fret. The antidote was a few Carafate pills to coat her stomach in a slushie form, with a slice of white bread.
Come to think of it, her remedy was a treat in itself. Smart girl!

These two songs are perfect in the celebration of our free spirit (who knows her address and has the nerve to wait for us at the front door)! Gotta go - off to find the security breach in our fence!

Dear Mareer,

Just look at the gloss on the coats of those two dawg beauties! I know how much both of you love them, and in return it's obvious they adog you.
Just like human kids, they have to keep life spicy with unexpected events that you sort of wish they hadn't decided on, glad it all turned out well though.
As usual, enjoyed your song choices.
Love and hugs,
Vickster

Dear Vickster,

A and Z do have beautiful coats - I give them an egg with their dinner a couple times a week.

Yes, all is well, at least for now, with these two rascals... ;)

Have a peaceful day. Love ya too, mareer

Oh Andy does have a lovely shiny fur coat and such beautiful brown eyes. So like my Tony in his expressions and features that they could be brothers. Zoey looks so much like our little guy, Indy. She sounds like she's a handful with the tongue depressor and the great escape. Hope you find the breach. Loved this update on your precious pups and the songs are some of my favorites. Hugs and Love.

Very cool at the similarities between our black beauties, dear Peg.

Glad you enjoyed the songs and hope you're having a peaceful week. Love and hugs, Maria

Hi Mar...
What a great way to start the day reading of your fury friends. (Not Hubby)...lol
They are indeed special and we will do near anything for them and that steadfast faithful love they so easily share.
Andy sounds like Angel in the guard dog stature. She has no idea just how small she in comparison too whom or what she barks at. I have been slowly breaking her of the barking habit.
Your two have the best of the best home... love them dearly and they will do even more in return.

Hugs from Alberta

Oh I think Andy and Angel would be the best of friends, dear Rolly.

I agree the unconditional love we have for our dawgs is a never ending investment.

Hugs and have a good day, Maria

Good morning mar. This was a special read. Your two buddies get the best of care and baskets of attention. Is that a brace on Andy's leg in the photograph. Hope he is OK.

Sorry to worry you, dear Mike, but Andy is just fine.

You are seeing his plush duck toy by his arm (minus most of the plush, as is my boy's preference).

Moms sure do have a tendency to brag and rightly so! Your kids are sweet & beautiful. There's nothing in the world as comforting as unconditional love. With Andy & Zoey, this is a life-long guarantee that goes both ways.
I truly enjoy hearing about your precious boy & girl. Thanks Maria.

Dear Paula,

I admit to bragging heavily about these kids of mine - yet it feels great to hear your feedback as well...!!

Love you and thanks for the visit, Maria

Sweet Maria - whew, it's been a long day and I've only just gotten home. But I love this post about your canine companions and the music that goes with them. What fun and such love in this post! This tells me how big your heart is, and how animals know they did right in "choosing you" to be their own. Special people with special hearts are those who win the true love of four legged companions. <3 Sending you hugs and thank you for making me smile so much in this post. :)

I recognize a fellow dog lover in you, dear Cynthia.

Thanks for taking time in your busy schedule to visit and glad this caused a cascade of smiles.

Love and peace, Maria

I can't believe Andy's been with you for two years already! My how time flies, huh? So glad that brother and sister have bonded, complementing each other and your home, Mar.

Love your song choices. I couldn't help but think of Julian when John was singing to Sean. I'd like to think he was just as smitten with his first born. We know life wasn't grand for Julian once Yoko stepped into the picture, but father and son made amends in the end.

Sorry to get off topic. Just sharing the emotion seeing the video sparked in me.

It was a pleasure talking to you last week, Mar. We should do that more often.

Love you, True Blue!
Sha

Hi Sha,

Actually our 'Beautiful Boy' Andy has been with us three years in August and our wandering Zoey, now a year already.

I enjoyed talking with you as well...and I agree.

Love you too and big hugs, mar

Right again, dear Martie - these dogs bring pure love and joy to the table - along with lots of mischief.

So happy you enjoyed the musical selections.

Hoping you are getting some rest. Love and hugs, mar
