Poetic Ponderings

After publishing my second poem, Betrayal, a good friend emailed me to see if she could help!  I hastened to explain that my poetry is a cathartic release of universal emotions and feelings.

In my first series, An Alphabet of Affirmations, I developed a positive mantra for healing, from Awe to Zeal, and as I build this collection of poems, I plan to explore those sorrowful and challenging feelings we experience along life's journey.

My goal in this second series is to promote hope, peace and encouragement in all who read. Thank you for taking the time to visit and share.

AGONY

A body on fire
Agony with every move
Silence expected

A mind fighting back
A delusional target
Good over evil

A soul ever strong
Focus on love, not the pain
Faith has set her free.

This is incredibly beautiful, Maria. It's more than a page; it's an experience. Maya describes something indescribable with that one sentence and your poetry - dare I call them haikus, as so few that aspire to be, really are? - is wonderful. I feel YOU in it all.

Dear Nellieanna,
From a poet as talented as you, these comments are beyond humbling. I aim to write haikus so thank you especially for that.
Hoping all is well and will be by to visit soon. Love, Maria

Color my World by Chicago

yes I have been reading your series here with the many moods and emotions on display in your very own unique style - nice and short but also meaningful and profound as well - and with beautiful music in my ears thanks to your poetic lyricism.
