Poetic Ponderings

After publishing my second poem, Betrayal, a good friend emailed me to see if she could help!  I hastened to explain that my poetry is a cathartic release of universal emotions and feelings.

In my first series, An Alphabet of Affirmations, I developed a positive mantra for healing, from Awe to Zeal, and as I build this collection of poems, I plan to explore those sorrowful and challenging feelings we experience along life's journey.

My goal in this second series is to promote hope, peace and encouragement in all who read. Thank you for taking the time to visit and share.

DESPAIR

Sad eyes looking grim
Shoulders hunched, body bending
Dread, filled with despair

Mind filled with debris
Future uncertain at best
Today, hard enough

As the sun rises
Bluebird chirps to greet the day
Heart smiles with new hope.

Good Morning,
Deep ponderings this morning but those little birds and their sweet songs always bring with them a sign of a new day and hope. Sending a big hug today. May your day be filled with smiles and sunshine.
Love,
Kimmie

Maria, this poem speaks the truth and ends in hope. As long as we can see that there is hope, despair will fade away. Lord knows we all feel a sense of despair from time to time. Then a new day dawns and fills us with light, love, wonder and hope.

Awesome poem my friend!

There is always hope; if I did not believe that I would not be here today...it's as simple as that.

Lovely words of hope, belief and the will to live

love,
bill

At times the load can seem to shift and people think they can never rebalance. But history shows that more often than not the burdens lessen and a spring returns to their step.

Being accompanied by singing birds just is added spice.

Nice poem.

Maria......We can only know pure joy and comfort by going through the dark........remember? All rainbows, pots of gold and illumination, are at the end, after the storm......Just before the NEW & glorious beginning. I love you amiga mia..........

After what you've been through, its a miracle that you can hear those sweet sounds. I was not aware of the horror that came upon you in that hospital that fateful day. I read it from the chapter you placed in Angie and Alastars new book I just downloaded. You are a walking miracle indeed, God bless you sweet lady, I'm so happy it was not your time, you had so much more to give to our world and you have proven it with your kindness, love and dedication to humanity and the love of life and all animals, especially your dogs and cat living with you both. Hugs

Oh, Mar, I don't know what's up with Weebly not sending notifications of posts being published.

So true, every day is a new beginning. I remembers a time I was in such despair that I had literally closed my ears for the songs of birds, and my eyes for the light of a new day. I will never again allow despair to beat me like this.

This poem is a beautiful picture with an important message :)

Oh my Sista,

Had it not been for sweet Ruby, "SEVEN" months later...I am hoping you have not been in DESPAIR waiting for a response (LOL)!!

Seriously, with your inner strength and beauty, despair will never be permitted to overtake you again...and that is a beautiful thang!

Love you so much, mar

Oh the feeling of despair, we've all had them, but when we listen to the sounds of nature, we can't remember why we felt that way. Your thoughts are special and lift my spirit to realize the beauty all around us. Happiness my sweet friend.
